Martin was born in 1889. His father, a master cooper and sacristan Messkirch, educated in the Catholic and conservative values. As a child or an altar boy, he attended church every day and it was consumed in the attic between the old books.
Hanna was born in 1906. His father, an engineer in Hanover, became ill with syphilis, and forced his daughter Marta Arendet and social exclusion. His grandfather, wealthy, educated in the liberal and Jewish values. Excellent student, he distinguished himself for his love of Greek philosophy, but was expelled for being thrown against the pedant education.
Martin was a man introverted, sixty-five feet tall, lean and athletic. The eclectic clothing similar to Bavarian folk costumes, consisting of the tapered trousers and riding a long overcoat, was called by his students' DRESS existential. "
